This is a page dedicated to Veloce's remarkable small motorbike manufactured during the years 1949 to 1971. Basically the machine was a flat twin of 200cc, water cooled and shaft drive. Its uniqueness, for its day, has never been surpassed. Three model variations were produced starting with the MKI, 150cc, 3 speed hand change gearbox and hand start lever. The MKII was increased to 200cc and retained the 3 speed hand change gearbox, hand start lever and shaft drive . The MKIII still retained a capacity of 200cc but the gearbox was increased to 4 speed foot change. The hand starter was also changed to a kick start system. All other items remained basically the same.
It will be my intention to describe and detail the various aspects of these remarkable machines if only to impart a greater awareness to the general public.
Firstly, there is a very active Club and new members are welcomed with open arms, but more about the Club below.
Secondly, second-hand machines can still be bought for under
£1,000. The Club stocks a vast number of spares for all models. and third party
manufacturers and dealers produce various parts. So, obtaining and restoring
need not be a daunting task as help is available in abundance!
